gcc-arm-none-eabi-source software package provides GCC cross compiler for ARM Cortex-A/R/M processors (source), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gcc-arm-none-eabi-source
gcc-arm-none-eabi-source is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gcc-arm-none-eabi-source package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gcc-arm-none-eabi-source *
You will get with gcc-arm-none-eabi-source package name, version, architecture and description in a table
